» THE VARUKERS (UK) (D-beat / Hardcore Punk)

The Varukers are a UK D-beat band formed in 1979 by vocalist Anthony "Rat" Martin, which produced its most influential recordings in the early 1980s. The band are one of the first to play in the musical style of the hardcore punk band Discharge, known as D-beat. Also, like Discharge, The Varukers' lyrics carry an anarchist political ideology.

After Pask left Life Is Damage, Vinnie, Ryton and Sam kept on playing together and were looking for another singer. We asked Willy (ex Hiatus, Unhinged, Skew Whiff, Trist ....) to join the band in summer 2014. He accepted cause he liked 90% of the songs. We decided to change adapt a bit the songs, give up some, create new ones.
We just recorded an LP in may 2016 and we are currently looking for labels.
